Testicles slipping past the cage gap

I’ve just gotten my MM Jailbird and am testing it out on a few runs before giving the key over. With winter coming for us in the north, my testicles tend to pull up close. While wearing the cage, one slipped through the opening at the base ring into my body. The slip was sharp but quick—only lasted about a second—but clearly an issue because I have to unlock it again to reposition things.

I figure reducing the gap is the solution, though I’d appreciate the board’s thoughts on this. I don’t think making the base ring smaller would work well enough to stop it without making long-term wear uncomfortable. Looking forward to hearing from you experienced members. Thanks!

Yes, check the space between the cage bottom and the A-ring. What size is your ring? I'd guess it needs to be at least 45mm or larger. The JB cage also sits lower down, meaning that gap would be tighter compared to a Steelheart or similar device where the cage rests higher up.

It's definitely the gap issue—I experienced this on my first go. I began with a half-inch axial gap and once it was cut down to three-eighths of an inch, the problem disappeared. You can adjust it yourself if you're careful and have the right tools; otherwise MM handles it quickly for you (assuming you are in the US and aren't waiting on international shipping).
