My “new” Steelheart showed up last week. I sent the original one back for a comfort ring modification, ordered an identical-length 35mm tube (roughly 10mm shorter than my current setup), and picked up two new rings to accommodate everything, including the locking cockring.
I hadn’t planned on dropping down in base ring size just yet, but the 42mm one I ordered measured out at slightly under 41mm. This worried me a bit because the 42mm ring I usually wear is quite snug during nighttime erections, and I wasn’t certain it could get any tighter.
Since I’m in the middle of a “no touch” period, I was unsure if I’d be permitted to swap out the hardware anyway. Ultimately, I did the next best thing: I applied some “Dr Numb” using q-tips to thoroughly coat everything inside the tube and waited about 15 minutes. We had replacements ready to go as soon as the old tube came off. The second application probably wasn’t even necessary since there was no sensation when removing it.
I took out the base ring and immediately put on the new 41mm one. I had to be extra careful; without feeling in my penis, I didn’t want to injure myself unknowingly. Slipping on the new tube was incredibly easy—I’ve never been so flaccid while doing it. Once everything was locked up, I waited for sensation to return.
I’m glad to report that it’s very comfortable. I really appreciate the shorter tube as well, measuring about 70mm in total length. So far, I’ve slept through two nights without issue. Now I’m truly happy that both rings were approximately 1mm smaller than what I ordered. I plan to give it a few more days before trying on the one just under 40mm (originally supposed to be 41mm).
Considering the physiological changes that happen when wearing a device and the difficulty in interpreting measurements against manufacturer specifications, do you believe your first custom piece is merely a stepping stone toward achieving a perfect fit?
