Having joined this Forum for a few months now, I have a query for the more seasoned members.:) (I genuinely feel we might actually be the majority here) Would you have kept yourself locked during your 20’s and 30’s:?: I adore this lifestyle at present, but being in my mid-50s, I am less certain I would have started on this path back then. What is everyone’s take?

I did. But to reframe your title a bit: the Internet didn't exist then, so all I had to nurture my kink was 'Forum' magazine. As soon as they printed an article on infibulation, I got it done (not because there wasn’t a body piercer around; back in the 80s, none were up the high street). No expertise, no idea, and no surprise that it failed. Within a month of getting Dial-up internet, I acquired a SCC 'Birdcage' and my kink finally took root. Honestly, it was overpriced, made from flat bar with bad welds making it quite jagged, but I cherished every moment in it. Chatelaine was 'somewhat distant' regarding the whole affair. When the CB2000 showed up on Altairboy, I bought one immediately and felt like I had handed my cock and balls to an angel after the discomfort of the SCC. It never felt completely secure and ultimately proved too flimsy for long-term real-life wear, so I was genuinely sad when it broke down. Although she didn't fully adopt the 'lifestyle', Chatelaine did play with this device. Post-Millennium, I crafted my own devices, and the Mk12 lasted well until Chatelaine purchased a Steelheart last year. We eventually made it happen, but not due to lack of effort. It was just a shortage of information and products.

If I had known about this kind of thing thirty years ago, I think yes, I probably would have given it a shot. Certain 'influences' go back to my early childhood (before puberty), but at that stage, I was mostly clueless. It wasn't until I spotted a magazine called 'Nugget' on a newsstand when I was in my thirties (?)(around 1990?) that I realized FemDom and kinky stuff really appealed to me. Before then, I had these vague feelings/urges but didn’t quite grasp what they were about, even though my GF (now wife) and I experimented with some 'tie & tease' and light spanking from the mid-'80s onward—but usually, I held the dominant role. While it was enjoyable, I often wished things were reversed. Although the Internet/Usenet had some interesting content, it wasn't until general public access opened up, porn became more accessible, and Altairboy’s site launched that I started to realize what really clicked for me, especially as available porn grew kinkier. When the CB2k arrived, I was still nurturing [most of] my fantasies in secret, thinking there must be 'something off' with me and feeling embarrassed about having such 'perverted' thoughts while struggling with the urge to tell my wife that her commanding, combat-hardened, gun-toting he-man harbored hidden desires to be dominated. After the CB3k was released, I managed to sort things out and began introducing her to the concept. Hmmmm, now that I reflect on it, maybe I *wouldn't* have given it a try when much younger. It seems it took broader knowledge of kink and 'alternative' lifestyles, plus greater acceptance and age, to shift from "You're a sick, twisted bastard" to "Forget it, if it feels good, do it." Even so, I still occasionally get bouts of "What are you doing and what the hell is wrong with you that this stuff turns you on?"

I did it for the first time back in 1977. There was no chastity device yet, just denial. The resources available back then were essentially magazines like that one. Having met my wife through a D/s group, everything changed drastically because before I was on my own and now it is done for her. But I know what you mean. At 19 years old, I was masturbating three or four times daily. It’s slightly easier to manage now, although once a couple of weeks pass, being 19 or 54 makes little difference. You’re feeling the effect.

I would have, provided the same information available today was around back then. I had some pretty hardcore kinks early on but didn’t want BDSM or D/s. I didn’t want to be a sissy or any of those other fantasies featured in the hardcore magazines I read. If Vanilla Chastity options had been there and I had a woman like my current one, I certainly would have locked up long ago. It seems Male Chastity as a standalone kink is finally maturing, and as more people become aware of it, folks of all ages will likely engage with it.
