I read the same piece and thought it was thorough and insightful. It helped me realize that our actions as men are driven by both chemical and biological factors, and the pleasure we get from living in male chastity is fundamentally biochemical. However, captive males need to be careful now. The author notes that after a caged man has an orgasm, his chemical balance can take ten days to two weeks to return to normal, along with his caring nature. Once our Key Holes learn about this, they might choose to skip that emotional "down time" altogether by keeping us locked up longer and longer... I also read that article, and I found it to be very comprehensive and enlightening. Now I understand that there are chemical and biological reasons behind why we men act as we do, and that the satisfactions that we derive from participating in the MC lifestyle are really biochemical in nature. However, we captive men should now tread very lightly. The author states that after a caged male is released and experiences an orgasm, it can take from ten days to two weeks until his chemical balance is restored, and he regains his caring and helpful disposition. Once our KH's become aware of this information, they may then decide to avoid this period of emotional "down time" entirely, by extending the length of our confinements longer, and longer, and longer......

With respect, attributing our actions solely to brain chemicals really underestimates our willpower and ability to make decisions. I have personal experience with much of what is described in that article, especially the down period and what I've always called an "independent" feeling after an orgasm. However, this is just one factor influencing how a person acts and should not be used as the sole explanation. It's like saying you need alcohol to go out and dance (or do anything else). Sure, it helps, but it isn't strictly necessary. Even if your mood is affected by this "post sex down," you can still choose to care for others, commit, or devote yourself to someone. I mean no offense in saying this, but I've heard too many people use "brain chemistry" as an excuse for their behavior.

This is essentially a rehash of that earlier thread. Science behind male chastity

Thanks for the kind words. It has been almost two years since I wrote the article and everything I have experienced in that time confirms the analysis. My Devotion Refractory Period turns out to be relatively short - about five days. It takes about that long before I am back in an elevated mood and feeling the attachment and powerful desire to do things for my wife. We found that a cycle of about three weeks between releases works best for us with lots of teasing and a few "Lady's Nights" devoted to her pleasure in between. kelmag

Very informative article, thank you. Does prostate "milking" have the same effect on the Dopamine, Prolactin, and Oxytocin levels as orgasms or just serve as a pressure release so to speak? Is there a "lost devotion" feeling after "milking" that takes time to recoup from?

Is there a "lost devotion" feeling after "milking" that takes time to recoup from? It doesn't seem to have the same effect because you aren't having an orgasm. In the same way, a ruined orgasm (at least for me) doesn't carry the same impact as a full one. Milking literally forces (perhaps 'too strong' is too strong a word here) the semen out. If done correctly, milking gives you the urge to urinate; if you give in, you'll find it's actually semen and other fluids like Cowper's fluid being released. For me, milking isn't particularly unpleasant nor entirely pleasant, but it doesn't release frustration or desire at all. There is also that near-monthly debate about whether the prostate actually needs emptying at all (this will probably spark that discussion again:roll: ). Depending on your perspective, this method helps alleviate prostatic build-up....
