Mature Metal Base Ring Sizes and Sizing Tips

Can anyone who has some experience with both a CB6K and a mature metal device share their thoughts on base ring sizes?

I have a CB6K that fits well with the 2” ring. I can get into the 1 7/8” ring if I’m completely relaxed or soft, and it’s fairly comfortable (feels quite snug), but erections are painful (especially at night); it feels like my testicles are being squeezed. I’ve tried a longer spacer, which helps a little, but it’s still not entirely comfortable. The 2” ring is just a bit loose once things settle down and shrink.

So the question is: do you have any thoughts on which base ring size I should order with a MM Jailbird?

I would suggest ordering the plastic rings from MM. These rings can help you dial in both the base ring and the cage size. MM base rings are narrower than CB base rings. The fit may feel different.

DNelson2: I have just gone through a similar situation with my new MM Jail Bird, which has been sent back to Texas to be fitted with a slightly larger base ring. Originally, I started in MC with a CB6000s purchased at a local neighborhood sex shop and wore the one-and-three-quarter inch base ring. That size always seemed a little too loose for me; it was possible to "pull out" quite easily. I could not wear the next smaller size of one-and-a-half inches at all. Next, I bought a Jail House steel CD that came with three base rings. Of those, the one-and-three-quarter inch ring was slightly large, but the one-and-a-half inch ring was much too tight. So when I recently ordered my first custom Stainless Steel CD, I asked MM to "split the difference" and construct a base ring measuring one-and-five-eighths inches. When the Jail Bird finally arrived, I confidently put it on, gave the key to my KH, and didn't anticipate any difficulties wearing it. That first experience in the new CD lasted six days until I was so swollen one early morning that I had to give up and use my emergency key. I then exchanged emails with Bill, the owner of MM, who wrote, "It sounds like your base ring is too small." So my advice would be to definitely order the two-inch ring and possibly get a second ring of one-and-seven-eighths inches so you have options. I plan to keep both rings when my Jail Bird returns.

The fit may feel different. I have the sizing rings, and without a cage, the 1 7/8" ring is tolerable but maybe just a tiny bit on the snug side with an erection. The 2" ring is quite comfortable.
