I’ve been wearing the Jailbird for a few weeks now and dealing with nighttime erections. I wake up quite frequently with that bruised feeling in my testicles, forcing me to remove it. It seems like when an erection happens, the ring gets pulled down until it presses against my balls.

I’m trying to determine the root cause: is the base ring too tight or is the 3/8” gap too loose (letting it slide down)? The cage itself fits well enough; I wouldn’t mind if it were just a bit shorter by about 1/8”-1/4”.

Any advice?

Jnuts was dealing with similar issues. Look at the blog linked in my signature; he discusses it there. He’ll likely join later and can share his perspective.

I experience that nightly as well. The ring size feels correct to me though. Since the gap on steel models isn’t easily adjustable in real-time, I’m unsure about that factor. I do wish my cage were slightly smaller so it could halt an erection a bit sooner. Also, hoping that over time my scrotum will expand enough to reduce the discomfort somewhat. The pain seems to come and go; just when I think it’s settled, it returns. Currently, I believe I’m suffering from congestion while locked up. I’ve had this condition before during earlier cycles but didn’t have it in the last one because there wasn’t much movement. This time around, however, there has been almost no play outside of the device, which confuses me regarding why congestion is happening now. Perhaps it’s simply the constant pressure causing soreness.

> ...I do wish my cage was a bit smaller... Couldn't you place something inside the cage temporarily to decrease its internal volume/size and test your theory?
