We’ve had the CB 6000s on her for about six weeks now, and she’s been thrilled. She actually prefers me wearing it rather than not. Honestly, I feel odd when it isn’t in use. About a week back, while just lounging around, my testicles slipped out of the Ring and the whole unit popped off. I quickly fixed this wardrobe glitch by unlocking and re-securing it. Then, later that same morning during a shower, it came off again, signaling that something had to change. I moved down one ring size in an effort to “tighten” everything up. This was (and still is) quite painful. The pinching as we assembled the CB nearly brought me to my knees; even my gasps made her almost reconsider the whole setup. After a lot of grunting and sweating, I finally got it on. It hurt like crazy for a day afterward. I eventually adjusted, but when it came off last week for cleaning, I noticed some ugly “Bite Marks” where the Ring had been digging into me above my Penis.

Anyway, she suggested we upgrade to steel because she has no interest in going back to how things were before. We didn’t really have major issues—sex was fine—but you know what I mean by that. My question is: if we get one custom-fitted and the measurements are spot on, will this specific issue disappear? Or does steel bring its own set of problems? I’d love any feedback since I really want to do this for my wife, but I don’t want to drop over $500 only to hit the same snags.
First things first: figure out *why* it kept coming off. There are two fit adjustments you can make: ring size and spacer thickness. If dropping down a ring size feels too drastic, try making the spacers thinner instead. I had nearly the same issue recently—I was sitting here reading the board when discomfort set in. Within minutes, that discomfort turned into pain as one of my nuts popped through. Dropping one ring size wasn't an option for me because that particular ring is broken and hasn't been repaired yet. Looking at what happened, I realized the plastic pins were flexible enough that cooler temperatures caused everything to contract slightly. This added just a bit too much flex in the gap, allowing pressure from my contracting testicles to push one through. I solved it by reversing the positions of my spacers: placing a thinner spacer between the base ring and cage reduced the gap and limited how much the pins could bend. So give that adjustment a try before you order metal. If you buy metal without knowing why your current setup failed, you might face the same problem but with a pricier fix to boot. While it's true you probably won't have issues with pin flexing (unless Kryptonite bothers you), you still need to ensure both ring size and gap are correct. Experiment now while it costs nothing. (I don't use metal yet, though reading some accounts suggests others manage smaller rings in steel than they did in plastic. Ordering extra [smaller] rings alongside the device seems cheaper than buying them later. Adjusting the gap on a metal unit appears to be a bit more involved cost-wise.)
