Smaller Ring Diameter Causing Increased Nighttime Discomfort

I’m trying to drop down a size, but it makes the “boys” pull quite a bit harder during those nighttime erections.
Do you think this will get easier as time goes on?
Also, do MM devices have less pulling or pain for the same diameter compared to others? On that note, I’m considering buying a double ring for an MM. Do the rings connect in a way that creates a hard-to-clean groove, or are they spaced apart slightly?
MM generally recommends going down one size for the base ring, and I found that held true when I switched from the CB6000s to the Jailbird. I also own a double base ring which is very comfortable. I was worried about issues between the two welded rings, but surprisingly there haven’t been any problems, with no gap in-between.

You didn’t mention why you felt the need for a smaller ring, but if the 1 7/8 inch fit well, two months might be a bit early. For the CB series, ensure you are at the smallest spacer setting before moving to the next smaller base ring. If your larger ring with the smallest spacer looks obviously loose, then it’s fine. However, if the skin is pulling, try applying a small amount of lotion where it hurts; things should improve over time. I get wanting more security, but don’t rush too much. You might end up with some raw spots.
