I’m certain this question was addressed before I joined the forum, but I’d like to ask about lubricants. Which types do you recommend (water-based, petroleum jelly, or silicone) for polycarbonate devices such as the CBXXXX, and what works best on steel, resin, and silicone surfaces?
I am a huge fan of Hemp Hand Protector from The Body Shop. It feels like Vaseline but with avocado mixed in. For me, it has the perfect balance between slippery and sticky, and it soothes 'ring burn' really well. I usually just need to apply a toothbrush-sized amount before going to bed or heading out for work, unless I’m doing a long session (over an hour), in which case I’ll use Vaseline.
I initially used Baby Oil Gel, but it trapped odors and was a bit messy to manage. A member on this forum suggested Aveeno Lotion with Aloe. I apply it once in the morning after showering and again before bed, which keeps me very comfortable throughout the day.
During the day or when first applying it, I use a small amount of unscented A&D ointment. At night, I typically apply some Gold Bond medicated skin cream. As I’ve become more accustomed to wearing it, my overall usage has decreased.
