I enjoy cycling, but I worry that wearing a cage will limit my ability to do so. My MM Jailbird CB6000S lifts the testicles upward and forward, which feels ideal for avoiding chafing or even pinching painfully while seated on a bike saddle. Does anyone here ride a bicycle with their device locked?

Perhaps the Holytrainer works well? It comes in clear tubing now, along with a smaller size option.

I rode my mature metal Jailbird this past summer. I usually cover about 15 miles without much trouble. Tom Allen reportedly went even further; he used a special split-style seat that proved more comfortable, similar to the one here: ... 001F6Y52C/

Use the search key to look for "cycling" or "bicycle"... You'll be surprised at what turns up...

I'm currently wearing a Jail House-style knock-off device. I can bike with it reasonably well, though I need to be cautious when sitting down and sometimes tweak my posture slightly. It wouldn't work for long tours, but since I use my bicycle mostly for inner-city trips of about 15-20 minutes, it's fine.

My experience has been mixed. If you sit more upright on a "comfort" or split saddle, wearing a trapped ball device is quite feasible. So, if you ride a hybrid bike with flat handlebars for short trips around the linear park (around 5 miles), you should be fine. Several companies produce split saddles that relieve pressure in your sitting area. The link Aarkey provided costs about $150 and targets road riders, but there is an excellent option from for roughly $30. That said, I find it problematic during longer rides on my road bikes. My vintage road bike has a vintage saddle, and the hunched-over riding position isn't very comfortable with a CB3k at all. Even just wearing the ring without the full device can cause some chafing, so I've stopped doing it recently. The ISM Adamo style saddles might work better, but I'm hesitant to spend that much on a saddle just for testing. I also have a newer bike with a centrally cut-out saddle (not split, more conventional), though I haven't tested it yet. I'll report back once the weather gets warmer.

As a long-distance road cyclist, this is likely my main hesitation regarding extended locked periods. I can't imagine it being comfortable, especially since saddle comfort is already tricky even without rings gripping your sensitive areas. I also worry about circulation problems and the risk of an emergency (perhaps from a crash) occurring miles away from home or my keyholder.

Actually, when I cycled shorter distances, I wore cargo shorts. But as I started doing longer road bike rides, I found the comfort of padded cycling shorts more appealing. My 3k shows up a bit more than I'd like in lycra. I hadn't considered accidents before, but that is definitely another factor. You think about them anyway, which is why some people keep an emergency key handy. However, dealing with removing the cage after taking a spill on a public road seems like too much hassle.
