unsure regarding cage length

I’ve got my new crossfire now. It’s really pleasant and comfortable to wear during the day, fitting my size perfectly. But there are a few problems. The tube diameter works well enough; even though I’m erect with a girth of 45mm (which feels above average), I went for the 38mm version that is more than sufficient when flaccid and leaves some room. The base ring measures 50mm, which is ideal. Now for the length: my average flaccid size hovers around 100mm (between 90 and 110). So I picked a tube with a 98mm length. While it’s very comfortable during daytime hours as mentioned, at night—particularly when I get morning erections—the cage gets pushed hard away from my body, leading to ball chafing. Because I anticipated this problem (having used inexpensive Chinese cages before), I asked for three eyelets welded onto the base ring so I can strap it down through them with a belt. This forces the ring close to the skin. The result? My penis tries to expand and hits the front of the crossfire, causing sharp pain that often means I have to take the cage off by early morning. Has anyone else dealt with this? Maybe I should have gone for a longer cage? I felt like anything over 100mm would be too long (by the way, my erect length is 150mm). The maker says the cage can’t really be altered; I’d likely need to buy a new one. My worry is that if I get an 115mm version, for instance, it might curve too much. I’m considering asking them to keep the last 20-30mm straight instead of curved. What do you all think?

Your gut feeling seems backwards compared to what makes sense. Rather than seeking a longer cage to fit your erection, try shortening the tube so things don't travel too far forward. Thumper discusses this on his site (), specifically arguing that shorter is often better. Many men have come to realize this over time. Most folks start with something too big and then tighten it up as they go. Give it a shot, you'll probably enjoy it.

I think we definitely started too big initially, but then maybe adjusted to be slightly too small... I'm not entirely certain right now. We just placed an order for a Revenge model with a somewhat longer tube... let's see if that extra quarter inch helps!:)

After all, to shorten the cage I could fabricate a plastic cylindrical insert about 10 or 20mm long to place near the head of the cage. By the way, I couldn't locate the specific section on the blog you mentioned. I've read in this forum and others that shortening is preferable, but everyone advises measuring your flaccid length when choosing from Steelworxx, which is what I did...:?
