I have a second Jailbird and I’m dealing with the exact same issue. The unit slips, leaving part of my shaft uncovered. Usually, pushing myself back into the cage fixes it through frequent adjustments, but sleeping or getting aroused makes this trickier. During sleep, if the device shifts, nocturnal erections pull the base ring tight against my shaft, which leads to discomfort and occasionally small cuts or abrasions. Has anyone else experienced this? Do you have any tips? The staff at MM haven’t been much help.

It feels like my scrotum stretches out after wearing the cage during erection attempts, so the base ring doesn't get enough friction. I rarely see this issue with my CB-6000s because their plastic material offers more grip.

What size rings are you using with the CB-6000s, and what measurements did you get on the JB?

However, the ring I wear on my Jailbird is at least two sizes smaller than that one. I've considered whether having an oval shape instead of a round one might be part of the issue, or if my gap is just too wide, but MM always insists neither can be true to me. A round ring feels like it would create more friction. Any thoughts?

It sounds like your base ring might be too large. Reducing the gap is a good first step to adjust it, and you can do that yourself. If that doesn't resolve things, send the device back and try a smaller base ring.
