HT and Jailbird sizing comparison

I might have to travel. I currently live in my Jail Bird, which is very comfortable. From what I see, the Holy Trainer 2 seems to be the top pick for plastic models. One retailer recommends ordering a base ring one size down from your usual measurement. My JB measures 1 3/4”, so I figure the HT base ring should be around 1 1/2”. The cage on my Jail Bird is 1 1/4” in both length and diameter. According to the maker, the Holy Trainer Short has a total length of 1 7/8”. However, that number can be misleading because it doesn’t specify exactly where the tube sits relative to the penis. For comparison, the Jail Bird’s length is measured from the scrotum up along the underside to the tip. I measure about 1 3/4” flaccid on the underside. So my main question is how that 1 7/8” figure stacks up against Mature Metal’s sizing standards. I want a fit with no extra “head” room left over. Ideally, both the shaft and the tip should maintain constant contact with the device walls. Any insights to help me decide would be greatly appreciated.

I own both devices and noticed that the HT requires a smaller A ring than the Jailbird. My JB uses a 1-3/4" ring, but I probably should have chosen the smaller option for the HT. With my 2-1/4" Jailbird cage, the short HT puts me right at the end just like my current setup does. You'll really enjoy this device. The only potential issue with traveling is the brass integrated lock on the HT. If you prefer to avoid metal entirely, consider how we sometimes manage CB6000s. My partner ties a thin ribbon around my penis before inserting it into the cage, then secures the ends through the vent holes and knots them externally. Instead of using a traditional lock, she simply zip ties the cage closed. There's no way for me to exit without the ribbon revealing that I did so. Since she controls the supply (she signs her name on them), the metal lock isn't strictly necessary. This method works well and ensures you won't escape unnoticed.

I switched from the HT2 to the Jailbird. You can't directly compare their rings because of the distinct shape of the HT ring. I tried two sizes; both were 2" wide, but only the top-to-bottom dimension matched the stated size closely. For me, using my CB6000 ring size has worked out well for nearly a year now. I had to send it back twice: once to adjust the gap and another time to have the security screw installed correctly. There is quite a difference between these two devices, making the upgrade worthwhile despite the cost of a month's rent. I often go several weeks with only brief removals for a quick washcloth cleaning before my shower, then re-lock it up immediately afterward. Mine feels very comfortable.
