DH Gate - Another Look at New Devices

My A080 and the follow-up tweaks didn’t go as planned, but I found some new gadgets on DH Gate since my summer browsing. Here is a gadget much like the A080, with flatter rolled rings, an integrated lock in the cuff, and a shaped flat ring: The C274-1 ( And here is another device of similar size featuring a solid tube. Notice the open cage end which should be easier to clean than the CBxxxx type or Steelworks’ closed tubes. The C272-1 ( Both are made from 304 stainless steel. While searching for these, I spotted them elsewhere; their dimensions appear similar to the A080 (an internal diameter of 1-5/16 and a cage length of about 2-1/4 inches, excluding the ring). I am fairly certain these were not available six months ago, so I doubt anyone has tested them yet. There are no reviews for them either, suggesting they are quite new.

I own the shorter C272-1 version without the bottom ball separator (the CD098-1 on eBay). I have been very happy with it so far. The base ring is slightly small for its stated measurement, but not excessively so. It just makes removal a bit tricky when locked. Fortunately, the shape of the base ring fits my body well and feels comfortable even if the edges are a bit sharp; I smoothed mine down with a Dremel. I was lucky that this specific device fit me like a glove comfortably, though it might not suit everyone else. It seems well constructed for an affordable price. Compared to my JB model, it is not quite top-tier quality but certainly within acceptable limits. The integrated lock works well enough to keep things in place without excessive jangling or bouncing around. I was initially hesitant about using a device with locating pins because past experience told me they could be fiddly to put on and secure. On my unit, this issue was improved by sliding small diameter clear plastic tubing over the pins so only the ends protruded. This also added rigidity. Is it as good as a custom-made device? Definitely not, but it is much better than many other imported devices I bought that cost significantly more (mine was $13 on eBay). ETA The base ring on this device appears to be MIM or possibly 3D printed DMLS. Its contoured shape differs from my previous devices, which were either welded stainless rod bent into a circle or flattened rod. When I used the Dremel to smooth the edges of what is essentially a flat ring, I also smoothed the inside surface. The outside had been polished but the inside was not as rough it just wasn't finished quite as well. It works fine though.
