Hello everyone, I’m fairly new here and grateful for any guidance you can offer.
It’s often stated that ball trap devices aren’t completely escape-proof. Still, I use a Steelworxx Revenge with an A-ring equipped with two Anti-Pullout spikes (which I’ve smoothed out using a file). These make it nearly impossible to pull out—certainly too much effort for me to bother.
My main worry is safety. Seeing some of the modifications others online have made to their devices, I wonder if I’m worrying too much. I tend to be a grower, but since my device is quite compact, there isn’t much room for expansion. Consequently, I experience no pain and barely register those anti-pullout spikes. My only hesitation is having something of this nature so close to my private parts. Could there be any risk to nerves or other issues?
Thank you in advance for your insights.
I own a similar device that included additional security rings. I filed down the anti-pullout spikes to about half their original height, yet they still don't sit comfortably on me. The tube fits so tightly that I haven't bothered grinding them further. Currently, I rely on a snug fit, friction, and the close-fitting cuff ring to hold everything in place. It has been fine up until now; we'll see how it holds up during hot summer weather. My view is that if you're wearing the security ring without pain or chafing, you should be good. The tissue there is quite durable.
