Cherry Keeper - Review

It’s been just a few days of wear, and I’m really impressed.

Fit: At first glance, the cage looked too small; it seemed like my head wouldn’t fit all the way in. But after about an hour, everything adjusted, and now it is fully enclosed inside. It never pulls back out.

The headlock’s main job is to stop pulling out. While it does that somewhat, its real strength is keeping the head secured in place. No turtling at all. This feature is fantastic because alignment stays perfect, which makes peeing much easier compared to other cages I’ve used. Note: If I’m not completely flaccid and shrunk to my smallest size, this cage simply won’t go on.

Comfort: The device feels incredibly light and barely noticeable. Surprisingly, there is zero pinching anywhere. My previous Contender model would pinch in certain situations (like when wearing jeans), but the Cherry Keeper has no such issues; I mostly forget it’s even there.

Function: The bars are round and thick. Their size and placement make it nearly impossible to touch my penis directly underneath. It feels like a fully enclosed cage that is also easy to clean. Those thicker bars allow attempted erections to be comfortable because you don’t feel much pressure—they just get gently blocked rather than stopped abruptly. I’m used to pressing against thinner steel bars, so this new sensation takes some getting used to. Erections basically stay where they are, which is partly due to the snug fit. I’m not entirely sure if that’s a good thing or bad.

Aesthetics: The one downside is the material isn’t metal, so it doesn’t look as sleek as the Contender. However, getting a non-metal option was my main goal anyway. I chose the base texture rather than smooth plastic. The texture hasn’t bothered me and seems to help keep the cage from shifting around too much. The dye takes well—Rit dye works great for it—so you can buy it colored or customize it yourself. I got white, but my owner quickly had her way with coloring mine.

Price: It costs about $45 in total. Great value. Plus, the parts are interchangeable if you want to swap rings or cages later on.

Hygiene: I haven’t worn it long enough yet to know exactly how often I’ll need to take it off for cleaning. No major problems after a few days, though it probably won’t stay as clean as my Contender did. That might be due to the material itself, or just because of that tight fit inside the cage. I expect I’ll have a multi-week caged test coming up soon.

I paid the extra ($8 if memory serves) for faster shipping, so it arrived within a week. Since I knew I needed to wear plastic at work, that extra fee was definitely worth avoiding issues with my old Nub. There’s a good chance this will become my primary cage.

I designed my own custom device from scratch and paid for all the extra features. I ended up spending a bit more than in that first post, but the result is incredible. It’s so lightweight that I barely notice it on. Having only ever worn metal devices before, this was my first non-metal one, so I was skeptical at first, but now I’m very happy with the purchase. I’ve ordered every custom metal device available out there, and working with the Cherry Keeper designer has been by far the easiest and most enjoyable experience. She paid close attention to all my questions and often replied within hours of receiving an email. My skin took a little while to adjust to the non-metal material, but once it did, I’ve loved it. The customer service is also top-notch; I’d recommend one of these devices to anyone.

Update: Ten days seems like a good benchmark for spotting any issues with a device. I’ve been continuously locked since putting on the Cherry Keeper eleven days ago. I have one small irritation spot on the bottom of the base ring, which I’m pretty sure is caused by the texture. When I switch back to my Contender later, I’ll sand it down slightly. Other than that minor point, this device has been flawless—thoroughly comfortable and effective. I really miss being able to grow even 1/4” or push against the bars in other cages; there’s simply no give here at all. Because it is non-metal, I never need to take it off for work anymore. My owner is thinking about keeping both keys herself since there seems to be no reason for me ever to be released again. That would represent a significant mental shift for both of us. I can’t say enough good things about the headlock feature. If you get the right size, your glans stays locked in place. It almost feels like it’s vacuum-sealed.
