Cysts and Chastity Devices: Advice for Spermatocele Wearers

I’m looking for advice and opinions on dealing with cysts while wearing a device.

I have a spermatocele, which is essentially a benign marble-sized cyst hanging out of my scrotum just above my left testicle. If you aren’t familiar with them, they vary in size and can be either painful or painless. Mine happens to be mostly painless—about 95% of the time. They can be surgically removed, but it’s one of those “if it isn’t bothering you too much, why bother” situations.

That said, when I do feel discomfort, it usually stems from wearing a cage. Right now, I’m using a basic TERNENCE device that costs around $25. The issue is that the lower section of its metal tube sometimes presses too hard on my spermatocele, triggering swelling and pain signals. It doesn’t happen every single time I wear it, just occasionally.

I am currently shopping for a new cage because I hope switching models will solve this problem. Does anyone here have experience with spermatoceles or similar cysts and has thoughts to share?

I’m considering the MM Jailbird and wondering if a device designed specifically for my anatomy might help. The bottom part of the Jailbird’s tube also seems less rigid—less metal-heavy, I suppose?—compared to what I have now.

Another option is a resin cage like the Holy Trainer. While I’d prefer metal for several reasons, it could be worth considering.

I created an account specifically to reply here. I was diagnosed with an epididymal cyst last year, and they seem identical to spermatoceles. Interestingly, I owned a MM Jailbird before the cyst appeared but haven't been able to wear it since then. At this point, I'm seriously thinking about having it removed because the cage just doesn't work for me. I was also wondering if you or others have dealt with another issue that might be linked to—or separate from—the cyst. After wearing chastity for 3-4 days (with a cage on or off), I get an intense burning sensation in my urethra when peeing. Sometimes the pain is so sharp it lingers for hours. My urologist suggests ensuring daily ejaculation, but that feels like an easy-out answer to me. My non-medical guess is that pre-cum gets trapped in the urethra and dries out. I'd love to hear from anyone who has experienced something similar.
