Steelworxx Looker 02: How do I keep the ring shut while fitting it?

Hi,

I’m using a Steelworxx Looker 02. I really like it, but there’s one issue with the ring when fitting the cage. Before the cage is properly slotted into the ring, the ring tends to fall open, which prevents the cage from sliding in.

When I keep the ring shut by hand, the prongs often pinch and bruise my skin.

Does anyone know a hands-free method for keeping that ring closed during fitting?
