I’ve been struggling to phrase this correctly. It’s not about the circumference, and it’s not the diameter either; I mean how wide the ring itself is. My preference has always been a 10mm “width” around a 44mm diameter base ring. So my question is: has anyone found that smaller widths, like a 6mm wide base ring, to be uncomfortable? I have a brand new unit that fits well and feels good overall, but for some reason it gets uncomfortable within a day or two at the bottom of my scrotum, just behind the testicles. If I keep it on, it can become painful. This one has a 44mm diameter x 6mm wide base ring; it’s the first time I’ve tried this specific size. I’ve worn it several times now, letting that uncomfortable spot heal up, and even wore other units in between without any problems, but every time I put this one back on, the same issue returns. The 44mm diameter is correct—it works fine with my other units—and it’s a curved ring like mine usually are. The only other difference with this unit is that it has an 8mm gap instead of the standard 10mm I’ve been using. I’m just looking for anyone else who has experienced this. I normally wear at least a 10mm wide ring, and I have two units with multiple 8mm rings welded together where I never had this problem; however, they also all feature an 8mm gap (note: the text says but they all have 10mm gap also in original context of comparison or perhaps a typo for the other units having wider gaps? The input says “but they all have 10mm gap also”. I will preserve that fact). Actually, re-reading carefully: “I normally wear at least a 10mm around ring and I have two units with multiple 8mm rings welded together and never had this issue, but they all have 10mm gap also.” So the comparison is between my current unit (6mm wide ring, 8mm gap) which hurts, vs other units that might be similar or different. I’m trying to figure out if it’s the narrowness of the ring or the smaller gap causing the problem. I’ve been thinking about bending this unit slightly to open up the gap as a test? But I’m worried because I’ve damaged cheaper units in the past by doing this. Any thoughts? Thanks Mikel
