Flying with a metal chastity device

Hello everyone; I think this topic might have come up before on the site, but my search for “travel” didn’t bring up any matching threads. So here is the situation I am facing. This winter we are heading to Puerto Vallarta. Right now I wear a 6000s model and have a steel (MM) device arriving soon. Judging by the reviews I’ve seen, it seems quite comfortable. It also looks like it can be hidden under swimwear, so I plan to bring it along for the whole trip.
Obviously, I won’t wear the metal unit while flying. My idea is to keep the 6000s on with a plastic lock during travel days and take the steel device separately. The question is whether to check the MM device or carry it on. I am hesitant about checking it because of the risk of lost luggage, plus Mexican security often does routine bag checks. Keeping it in my personal item avoids loss but means gate security will see it through the x-ray scanner and might decide to inspect it physically (“What is this?”).
Has anyone dealt with this before or have suggestions? Also, how does wearing a plastic device go when passing through full body scanners? Has anyone tried that experience?
If I were checking bags, I'd put the MM device in there; if not, carry-on. I wouldn't wear anything during the travel period and would apply it as soon as possible after landing. -A
If you are concerned about full body scanners or the metal device itself, there is another option. Pass through security with the device removed. Once past security, your KH can give you about three minutes to slip into a restroom and reapply it. On the plane, she could discreetly check that it is in place using touch. This works for the steel version too, so you wouldn't need to bring any plastic backup. You could arrange beforehand what happens if you take longer than expected to put it back on. No excuses! I believe placing the cage in your KH's purse (assuming she has one) would be ideal. I might not have this entirely right, but considering all the various items a woman carries in her bag, a metal device broken down into separate parts should pass more easily than having it loose in a standard carry-on.
