I picked up the plastic lock for my CB6000 and expect to receive it tomorrow. I needed one because I occasionally have to pass through metal detectors at work, and also since the steel option can sometimes show through my trousers while being a bit sharp and pointed. Once mounted, I believe those side pins will protrude the most. From what I’ve noticed, there’s no real need for them to be so long, which makes me consider trimming them down. Has anyone done this before, or does anyone see potential issues with doing it?
It works fine in reverse on a CB3000; I had to trim them so they wouldn't poke me (since they stick out from the back of the ring), and it went smoothly, actually making things look tidier. Just keep an eye out for whether you might need bigger spacers later? Usually though, it's the other way around:-)
