Happy Birthday Forum

One year marks the occasion for our community today. Big thanks to Thumper for launching this place, the moderators for steering it right, and everyone here who has been such a fantastic part of what we are:)

For anyone new around these parts: just over twelve months back, spam began flooding the old forum like crazy. We reached out to the owner, hoping he’d let us help moderate (since there were plenty of volunteers ready), but instead he chose to cash in by slapping on some pretty cheesy and irrelevant ads that invaded our space. Then he vanished again. Luckily, Thumper went a different direction and built this forum from scratch. I believe most of the active users from the old site joined us within about three days. Just weeks later, the previous platform was completely swamped with spam and ads. It looks like it’s gone quiet now, which is a shame because even during its short life there were some excellent posts that I regret not saving. -A
