“Strong man” and “alpha male” are labels I embrace and will continue to carry, signifying that I refuse to be pushed around by others—my spouse and family included. Yet, beneath that exterior lies a submissive fetish which has likely been present all along, perhaps becoming more apparent when I was in my late twenties.
Since these two traits—an alpha personality paired with a submissive nature—are nearly opposites, I plan to proceed slowly and do my homework before diving in headfirst. My marriage is already showing some cracks due to unrelated issues, so I want to be very careful as I explore the male submission dynamics I dream about, ensuring I don’t mess things up further if possible.
It feels like our culture has been glorifying “strong women” since roughly the 1970s without extending that same respect to strong men.
Apologies if this comes across as just a ramble; I’m mostly venting here. I’ll still read through everyone else’s contributions, but I won’t be rushing into an FLR or similar arrangement anytime soon. For now, I remain in the research phase.
