Site announcements and information discussion

I’ve been asking myself whether a gallery is truly necessary. I enjoy seeing people share their pictures, but the section doesn’t seem to get much traffic. Maybe it would be better if we used an existing forum area as our gallery, allowing users to start new threads for their photo collections. Curious to hear what everyone thinks.
