Hi there! I own the ‘knockoff’ cb-6000 and am looking to seal up that gap using silicone, hot glue, or something similar. However, I’ve heard that silicone-based lubricants (like wet lubes or Astroglide) can degrade toys made of silicone rubber. While I realize the CB6000 itself isn’t silicone rubber, could this still damage my ring over time? Additionally, if I apply hot glue or silicone into those grooves, will the lube interact with it? As a temporary solution for that issue, I tried using the next size up ring and wrapping it in electrical tape. It helps address the groove problem, but the material is so grippy that chafing gets much worse. So I was thinking of applying lube there too, though I’m unsure what that specific part is made of or if the lube might cause issues with it as well? My guess is all these options work fine with silicone-based lube since many folks use them with their CB6000s. Eventually, I plan to purchase a new ring but don’t want to spend money on it right now unless someone can direct me to this specific ring on Amazon or eBay for less than $20. (I know I sound cheap being a broke college student who can’t afford to drop 300 bucks on a cage!)
