Alright, I’ve finally received my new 18a. It’s a back ring device featuring a 6g pin. Right when the gear arrived, one of the screws was tightened too much, so I had to wait until the following day to tap the screw head lightly with a hammer and apply enough force to open it up. The build quality is really impressive; that seems like an unusual touch.

I picked out an oval back ring sized slightly smaller than what I usually wear (especially compared to my old plastic CB). It fits very tightly, and honestly, I forgot I was even wearing it when just the ring was on. Plus, there’s a nice curve to it, so it stays in place beautifully.

My initial thoughts on using the complete device were positive. I might have gone just a tiny bit small on the length though. It’s snug, and while some skin ends up outside, I’ve heard that being slightly short can actually be beneficial for others. The weight feels manageable, and there isn’t any pressure pushing against the PA pin.

Now for the issues. For some reason, one of my balls occasionally slips through the back ring! This only happens when wearing the full setup and really caught me off guard. Perhaps there is a bit too much gap between the ring and tube, letting gravity take its course? The other problem I’m dealing with is that the ring’s cross-section has somewhat square edges, creating quite a hard edge that leads to some ball burn during sleep. Maybe it just needs further rounding to smooth out the contact point?

I hope these little hiccups can be smoothed out because it’s such a gorgeous device; escape seems impossible even with those occasional slips. Nighttime erections weren’t too bad either, since the tight fit leaves very little room for expansion.

Has anyone else dealt with similar problems?
