Good news and bad. The good: it works. The bad: I’m stuck. I tried the O-ring behind the head along with one of those plastic travel locks, but that combination irritated my skin. The fix? I grabbed a stainless steel frenum ring from Stockroom and found a 3 mm steel chain on e-bay. I opened the end link of the chain, slipped it over the frenum ring, and crimped it shut with pliers. After trimming the excess, I had roughly 1 1/2 inches of chain dangling through that old drilled hole in the bottom of my 6000 unit. I attached one of those plastic locks to the solid end link. There’s plenty of play for expansion and contraction. Occasionally the chain doesn’t drop all the way back down, so I have to reach into my pocket to pull it, but no big deal. I’m basically screwed in now—or rather, not out. The thing is, I was planning a piercing anyway, which saves me that step now. Just need to be careful with swim trunks or shorts because the plastic tab hangs down and can peek through. That’s actually how I got caught testing it; my partner spotted the tag and wanted to check it out. Happened 12 days ago. I could probably slide out of the frenum ring if I had to (or really wanted to), but there is no way I’m getting back into that hole since the rod only reaches halfway up the tube. Skipping a trial period would feel wrong, though. Honestly, not worth the hassle.
