Mature Metal discussion

I picked up a Jailbird about two years back. Lately, I’ve seen that even when I make sure the security screw is tight, it gradually loosens over a few weeks, requiring me to tighten it again. Is this because the threads are wearing down or simply because I’m keeping my lock on for longer periods? I’d prefer not having to re-tighten it so frequently. Aside from permanent fixes like Loctite and JB Weld, what options exist to keep the screw secure while still allowing easy removal when needed?
