I often wonder about my place in the D/s dynamic discussion. I don’t doubt what type of sub I am since I know myself well, but I’m curious how others view a trans woman as a submissive and what that means for finding a partner.

I’ve written on FetLife before about how being transgender differs from both cisgender men and women, acting as a blend of the two. It strikes me as sad that the porn industry portrays ts women as dominant; in reality, this incidence is likely similar to cis women who are also dominant.

From what I know and have observed among other subs who are trans: even though we still possess a penis, hormone therapy changes how it functions. Personally, I find orgasm denial easier to handle, yet my sex drive does decrease as well. Therefore, the D/s dynamic needs to be sexually engaging in nature or practice so that arousal remains steady; otherwise, sex becomes irrelevant rather than serving its purpose, which would mean losing a useful tool of power exchange.

Emotional attachment matters too. Even if I receive plenty of attention, it must be meaningful, or else I feel depressed. These traits align me closer to female subs, but the presence of the penis means CBT still applies, albeit with some adaptations depending on how each trans woman perceives her own anatomy.

Additionally, certain activities tied mostly to humiliation are often ruled out by default for me. This includes feminization or related public play becoming less relevant since my mental gender is female anyway. However, this can be swapped for public exposure as a ts. For someone like me who passes completely, wearing just a dress or skirt without panties can instantly turn into a tool of humiliation when discovered not to be cis-female. Even in an open society, it still raises eyebrows.

So, to keep the thread’s focus, I am curious: what do you think about Dommes accepting trans women? Or if you are a dominant woman, would you consider it, or is it simply not your cup of tea?
