In an FLR, there are actions we take that some might say serve our own interests or reflect things we simply want to do. For instance, I enjoy cooking and am better at it than my wife did before. She handled most of the meal prep in our previous dynamic due to established roles. Now that I prepare nearly every meal, critics could argue I’m just satisfying my personal love for cooking. This makes me wonder: what else do you all do purely for her benefit? While there are several examples, nothing beats making the bed daily. It’s not a quick cover-up; it’s a proper hotel-style tuck-in. Throughout my life, I rarely made the bed unless fresh linens were involved—and even then, my technique was messy. During my marriage, I can count on one hand how often I actually did it. Why bother when sleep will just rumple it again? She adores a crisp, well-made bed; entering her room feels like a distinct experience for her. Among all the tasks I handle, making the bed is perhaps the most expected. The fastest way to trigger her displeasure is forgetting this duty. Each time I make that bed, I feel submissive and sense her authority. What about you? Which of your chores or services meets this specific standard?
