I’ve spent roughly six months shifting from a full-time submissive to navigating life in a female-led relationship. It’s thrilling; the shift is exciting yet daunting, posing quite the challenge. Each day brings new hurdles, typically revolving around my mood and mindset for that particular day, as well as his expectations of me. The primary struggle for me has been transitioning from a submissive whose main goal was to please Sir and absorb all his wishes, hoping to do so in the best way possible. Now, I find it harder to satisfy him exactly how he desires. But shouldn’t my role be different? Shouldn’t he be following my lead and pleasing me? So why does every time I want to point out when he hasn’t done what I asked feel risky? I hesitate because I worry he won’t appreciate it, so I stay silent. And when I lack the emotional energy to pleasure him in his preferred way, guilt creeps in that I’m failing him. What should I do if I don’t want to engage? If I lack the confidence to assert my authority over him? How can I stop feeling guilty? It weighs on me all day or evening like a lingering chill. When I force myself to play along, I worry everything will go wrong anyway, trapping me in a cycle of guilt. I browse online for tips on non-sexual tasks that keep subs happy and compliant, but I back down at the last moment because he might feel resentful if I haven’t played with him all day yet am now giving orders. There are good days when I wake up eager to go. On those times, I can command, tease, and set challenges for the day ahead. Those are my best moments; I feel empowered, capable of handling his grumpy attitude and helping him shake off bad moods. This gives me hope that I truly have potential here. That is who I am meant to be; she is within reach. On those days, it feels like a turning point has arrived. Things are good and won’t revert to being difficult. But then days like today occur: I attempt to assert my authority but fail completely. From that moment on, I felt adrift, second-guessing everything I wanted to say or do.
Is this something you genuinely desire, or are you merely submitting to a request to take control? If it is truly what you want, the key is realizing and accepting that you need time to grow into your role. You will have off days where you don't feel like dealing with anything. Things won't always go perfectly; that's just life. Do what feels comfortable and enjoy the process. As long as you are making an effort, it should be sufficient for your submissive partner. If he expects perfection from you, his expectations are unreasonable, and he needs to understand this better. The journey matters more than the destination. However, if you are only taking control because of a request rather than genuine desire—as part of a submissive's urge to please—I'm not sure there is much you can do. It feels like that dynamic will leave both parties somewhat dissatisfied.
Leave him and his grumpy attitude behind. He comes across as a spoiled child who constantly wants more. You are rarely truly in charge even when you think you are; you're mostly just trying to please him.
I agree with @L-u-c-y that it is about your needs and his service to you. He is focused on himself and using you for amusement. Don't waste your time telling yourself otherwise; say goodbye because you cannot fix this issue for him. You are better than that. Move forward to someone who focuses their attention on you.:+1:
