I typically go with a 40 mm ring for most ball-trap setups. It fits quite snugly, but if I increase the size beyond that, my balls tend to slip out individually on those specific devices. Right now, I’m using a CS-100 belt and have it set very tight against the ball ring. Since one of my balls split when I was younger, I currently have one standard-sized ball and two smaller ones.
If I switch to a 45 mm ring for more comfort, will anyone with experience in BB belts think there’s a risk of slipping out? I’m aware that many folks feel secure without the ring at all, but I’d prefer being safe rather than sorry if you catch my drift!
Nope, I really doubt it. The ring sits close to your body since it’s attached to the front of the belt. Actually, I suspect you could even manage a ring larger than 45mm without worrying about slipping out.
