I just received my BBCB basic belt and I’m very pleased with it. Now I am thinking about upgrading later on by purchasing a cage, perhaps the Hannibal 2.
Still, I was curious regarding the rod system and its security level.
It appears to me that the end connecting to the cage is secure, but the end attaching to the back of the belt can be unhooked relatively easily—provided the rod isn’t adjusted super tightly. The hook only seems to go about a cm or two deep, so any play in the rod could provide enough clearance for it to lift off. Or am I missing something?
Wouldn’t it make more sense if the belt’s rod hook were deeper, maybe even as deep as the belt itself? That would make unhooking nearly impossible. Also, it would allow some slack in the rod—improving comfort and hygiene.
Once the rod is fitted and bent to match your shape, it sits ideally between your butt cheeks below the level of your backside, so you won't have any problems sitting on chairs or similar. As I mentioned, once correctly fitted—first attaching the rod to the back section and then raising and locking the front shield in place—you can't lift the rod up enough from that position to try unscrewing it. The rod causes no issues at all with using the toilet for bowel movements because it is only 4mm wide and made of stainless steel, making cleanup easy and clean. There's no need to shift the rod to one side when passing stool; this is precisely why it needs to sit between your butt cheeks. If you prefer, you can fit the rod looser so that it moves slightly to either side if you choose, but then you might feel the rod touching chair surfaces, which pushes the belt upward while sitting.
