As I near the eight-month mark of my “permanent” chastity, I’ve been rethinking much of what came before. Once upon a time, I would have claimed that my family was very controlling, and that past girlfriends tended to be domineering too, with people at large being judgmental and pushy (blog post). Now I see that really, I’m just sensitive because deep down I’m quite pliable and easy to steer. It wasn’t them after all; it was me!
Have you gone through a similar shift in outlook? For instance, if you are dominant, did you used to view the world as populated by frustratingly incompetent people? And if you lean submissive, perhaps like myself, did you feel constantly pushed around and become fairly defensive?
I’d love to hear how your experiences compare…
Yes. Briefly. I've long realized that I'm relatively easy to push around and function better as a helper than the leader. I mentioned elsewhere that my second girlfriend felt she couldn't be the domme I required, and it took my recent foray into chastity before I truly understood what she meant. So yes, I completely understand your point. It does seem somewhat rare though. Perhaps most people are aware of this trait from the start?

I have said elsewhere that my second girlfriend said she couldn't be the domme she thought I needed and I just didn't get what she meant until my recent adventure in chastity. So, yeah, I totally get what you mean. Looks rare though. Maybe most people know before they start? > Click to expand... I don't think we're necessarily doormats: we're great at championing causes and organisations. However, we tend to be happiest orbiting other people.
