I’ve wanted to try Chastity for years. About two years back, my partner and I experimented with it intermittently using two different fully enclosed plastic devices, but we didn’t get great results. Lately, I bought a small metal open-style cage (a budget Chinese model) and am generally pleased with the look, comfort, snugness, and security. However, after three days of non-stop wear, I developed what can only be called a rash on my manhood! I noticed the device’s surface finish was quite poor—scratches, tool marks, raised welds, deep pits, etc.—which is obviously where manufacturers cut corners to save time and money. As a professional Body Piercer, I know how crucial surface finish is when metal is implanted in the body, so it should be just as important for constant direct skin contact. Last night, I spent three hours grinding, wet sanding, and polishing the device. It was a bit awkward to handle, but the finish improved dramatically, though not perfectly. Hopefully, this better surface finish will reduce skin irritation, trap less moisture, and provide fewer spots for bacteria to multiply, ultimately helping me avoid future rashes. Does anyone else have ideas on what might be causing the rash?

It's most likely bacteria growing in the cracks or irritation from that poor surface. Some of those cheap Chinese devices that claim to be stainless steel actually aren't, or are a very low grade. The welds can sometimes rust too, so check yours is rust-free. If you plan on wearing it for any significant time, I'd recommend getting a good custom device free from these issues. I started with the Chinese ones and then got a mature metal jailbird custom piece. Great quality, comfort, and construction.
