My partner and I have talked about tying the knot a few times lately. We are living in an FLR, and he has been locked up for more than two weeks now with no release at all (we’re still relatively new to this, though we’ve been building up to it. The earliest he might get out is later in the month, but I could make him stay longer). He claims that marriage clashes with FLR. I know he’d love me as his wife and I want him as my husband. To me, marriage is just another way of gaining more control—and we can adjust the vows. It won’t be a grand wedding ceremony, strictly speaking; it will simply be a marriage. Since we are both divorced and have already done the traditional ‘big wedding’ event, What do you think about FLR alongside marriage? I’d appreciate hearing from those who know what an FLR is like to see how they view this step. I’ve basically told him that we are going ahead with it anyway, and he said he would be honored/is ready for the challenge; however, he does feel it runs counter to our dynamic. I’m just curious about everyone else’s take on it.

I have been married for 25 years. My Queen asked me, It acts as a security for Her (and benefits me too): I cannot leave when I choose to If you are worried about losing control, marry with a contract.

The FLR that sits underneath everything will provide the framework for a successful marriage, built upon female control and male obedience alongside respect.

I am married. My wife handles everything. It is an excellent relationship. I do not see how marriage opposes FLR in any way.

If anything at all, marrying would strengthen an FLR by establishing joint ownership of our assets.

Marriage does not oppose FLR. They go together very well indeed.

Yes, marrying means you are going deep. I believe that in an FLR, you must truly trust your keyholder’s judgment to share everything with them after marriage. They have a say in nearly half of what you can legally own and do. Society makes you wear a small metal band as a sign of ownership. The whole concept of marrying to deepen dominance when you no longer believe in traditional roles (like post-divorce) feels somewhat kinky to me. It is a huge commitment for many, but he is wrong that it would weaken the FLR. It might be a straw man argument because it could alter good dynamics you already enjoy together. Perhaps present it differently: will he feel better being your wife in the bedroom?;):lockkey: There are many ways this could double down on the kinkiness of marriage.

I believe that a FLR is deepened by marriage.

I cannot speak for others who were married long before introducing an FLR, but my wife has pretty much always been into all of this stuff. It was part of our original idea of what our relationship would be. I included a bit of it in the vows I wrote; nothing too over-the-top, yet she understood perfectly. Our expectations prior to getting married secured our marriage’s continuation as female-led, and our commitment to communicate ensures that we will discuss problems before either of us tries to change our dynamic. Whatever works for you two, say so clearly, and the marriage part will take care of itself.

That is exactly how I see it: that it strengthens me and allows me to 'own' him legally. I have told him that I want legal ownership of him; I want his name as mine and I expect him to wear a wedding ring (something he avoided during his previous marriage by choice—I made sure to clarify that I demand this). His mindset has relied on the love, honour, and obey vow. I’ve explained that I simply will not vow to obey him; instead, he shall be obedient to me. We also agreed we would write our own vows. I do not want a fancy wedding, just a small registry office affair with my two children plus two adult witnesses. For me, it is a statement of strength in every way possible. I know he wants to marry me; he simply finds it conflicting for an FLR and for me owning him. He seemed worried that it would weaken the FLR:rolleyes: I am going to show him your responses, which confirm I am right (as usual):) and that it does the opposite—it strengthens it. Thank you all:love::)

In my opinion, marriage and FLR definitely go together—in fact, it is more a matter of avoiding smugness! Our friends' relationships do not seem quite as satisfying for most of them!

I would ask my wife about this, but she is enjoying a lie-in this morning while I handle the school run (that serves as a clue though!)
