To start with, my FLR journey began on the wrong foot. I was being quite controlling and demanding of my Queen, constantly pushing her into a corner. However, after chatting with members here for advice, things have been wonderful ever since. I completely changed my approach, giving my Queen room to adjust to this new dynamic, which has proved truly fantastic. For instance, today while she was busy at work, I handled all the laundry, ironing, bed-making, vacuuming, and bathroom cleaning. When she got home, her smile made it all worthwhile. Now I know I’m on the right track without putting pressure on her; she’s so relaxed these days. Every day is improving, and I love being her devoted servant. My tip for anyone new to FLR: ensure we give our Queens the space they need to get used to things in their own time and manner. You’ll be rewarded with a great experience. Thanks to everyone who helped me along.
Congratulations! I hope this positive trend continues for both of you. You aren't the only one; many people effectively lead from below while trying to set the terms of their FLR. Good job recognizing where your mistakes were and addressing them.
I believe we all made that same mistake when introducing this aspect into our relationships. I had one unhappy attempt followed by a second mediocre situation where she felt pressured. The advice here was excellent. Like you, I took over the chores and duties. Then I dropped my own expectations and focused on what would make her happy. I didn't voice what I wanted myself, avoiding that 'topping from below' trap. It's something we each have to learn personally, much like touching a hot stove. Lol As of yesterday, my wife now wears the key around her neck while we wait for her beautiful custom piece so she can wear it with pride permanently.
