I never issue a command that I believe a sub is incapable of performing or one they would find uneasy. Therefore, if he responds with “no” or suggests an alternative he prefers, it feels instantly deflating. Naturally, valid reasons change this dynamic. Is no the worst word a sub can utter?

I'm not sure "No" is necessarily the worst response... My opinion is that it depends on context. It relates to the relationship and its dynamic, as well as the specific situation. I believe you shared that video earlier, though I do remember it. Sadly, it appears many who claim total submission might be overstating their case. Unconditional subs are rare in reality, even rarer among those here on the forum or those allowed unsupervised internet time. Again, it likely comes down to the relationship and its dynamic regarding how you define yourself or label someone else as a sub. I feel some of us possess and appreciate varying degrees of submission without necessarily adopting the full-time role of a complete submissive.
