Novices and newbies discussion

I kept myself in chastity for five days with great comfort (except right after waking up because of morning wood). I took it out to clean the device, and where the ring makes contact isn’t bruised black or blue; instead, it’s red and a bit sore when you press on it. Is this normal? Will it heal once my body gets used to it?
