Hi everyone, I’ve been an active poster here, but I figured it might be interesting to share how I arrived at this place—so here is my condensed story. As someone relatively new to the scene, I often reflect on the journey that led me here and the serendipitous moments that shaped my decisions. This has left me wondering about some big questions regarding how women end up in FemDomme roles when mainstream society sees them as so out of step with traditional values. There have been several posts from guys eager to be managed by their wives, locked up and directed by Female Authority that I’ve followed closely, but what about the wives’ side? If you read more conventional relationship forums, there is often a surprising amount of real pushback against this lifestyle. Words like unnatural and cruel are thrown around frequently, which made me think about how I became a lifestyle Domme. As a strong, independent woman who works well in male-dominated fields, I have never felt that I am any less capable or important than the men beside me. Working in such an environment has also led me to avoid many of the more natural female traits like nurturing and empathy (believe me, you get pushed around very quickly if this is seen as weakness), and my career has given me financial independence that many women don’t have. I haven’t much time for girly submissive behavior; finding that my thirties brought even more freedom when maturity set in with the view that I could only ever be true to myself, and measuring my value by male attraction just caused misery and insecurity. The downside is that I spent a lot of time single because I found relationships involved too much confrontation and power struggles, which after a tough day at work, I just couldn’t be bothered with. I also resented weak, needy men whom I could easily boss around, so doomed to relationship letdowns, I focused my energy on career growth, traveling, and other great things in life, but mostly alone or with friends. More recently, my friends have paired off, settled down, and acted childish, leading me to conclude that was their path while mine was different; I am happy within myself and by myself. I did try internet dating briefly and really disliked it. Usually, I got dumped quickly once it became clear I wasn’t going to jump into bed after a mediocre dinner and a bad movie  When I met my future husband through work, the key thing between us was an advanced level of communication and friendship. He was in the early stages of a new relationship that he didn’t seem very keen on, and I told him I was a happy singleton with many plans to leave corporate life as soon as finances allowed so I could do my own thing. He never judged me or felt threatened (we earn the same), and I really enjoyed his company. I think we were both surprised by the feelings that grew between us, and before long, the girlfriend was gone and we started what would be my first relationship in years. He proposed four months later, and we began planning our wedding. So far, so traditional. Not long after we got engaged, over a beer at the pub, he told me he wanted to serve me and be controlled by me. Until then, we had enjoyed a very equal sexual dynamic, and I must admit this took me aback slightly. We started looking into all the resources on Female Authority and FLRs, aided by some amusing role play, and began our path toward FemDomme initially to resolve conflict. Today, he is in 24/7 chastity with regular CP for both discipline and punishment; although we have tried occasional switches, these are becoming rarer as I do them more as a gift to him. We are deeply in love and enjoying our life together while discovering D/s along the way. So, that’s my short story. Before we met, he had been in vanilla relationships as a dominant high-earning provider with submissive women and never considered his own submission to a woman. For me, I have managed men throughout most of my career, always kept my own money and life separate, and never viewed sex merely as a means to get what I want (unless it is more sex, naturally!). So here is my observation—if my husband and I had not met and remained the personalities we are, I believe it was extremely unlikely that either of us would have entered any kind of D/s relationship; we might have continued unhappy, unresolved, and in conflict.
