Only about a week past when I truly sensed our FLR was standing solid on its own. Since then, everything has been sliding downward rapidly. The main culprit seems to be the self-imposed quarantine we’re in right now. Yet her demeanor has shifted from strict task master to overly coddling. She’s lost all interest in sexual engagement and is pulling away from intimacy somewhat too. It feels like cabin fever has gripped our entire household. Between helping the kids with remote schooling, the endless loop of cooking and cleaning for three daily meals plus snacks, work pressures, health worries about ourselves and loved ones—it’s a lot. A couple of years ago she considered putting the cage away to embrace my alpha professional side in our everyday routine. I suspect she wants that back again, but as is her way, communication isn’t exactly her strong suit. Another unraveling seems just around the corner.
