Hello everyone, I recently began using a CB-6000/Curve device. I was originally searching for metal lock pins, but I also discovered this website quite recently:

…Is anyone interested in assisting me with designing metal components (using their 3D software) to either work alongside or replace the plastic pieces on the CB-6000? We could share these files so we can order the parts we need and have them manufactured? I also purchased a digital vernier caliper from eBay for around $15 to ensure accurate measurements of the components. (For those looking, search eBay for “Caliper Digital vernier gauge micrometer TOOL measuring”) My initial idea was to get some metal locking pins produced. However, I had another thought: we could design and machine a metal “shroud” that would cover both the locking pin and guide pins AND the shank of the padlock, preventing them from being easily cut and significantly increasing security. We might also be able to design our own base pieces and rings in metal using the site mentioned above. I am not certain about the cost yet since I haven’t placed an order there personally. But we could share part files as we model them in 3D utilizing this platform’s software. I can also picture a metal shroud covering the lock/guide pins where one end is designed so that a metal pin inserts into the locking mechanism (replacing the traditional padlock), and then that pin slides into a round “lock shield” similar to what is shown here…

…The concept being that once the padlock is applied, it secures and holds the lock pin in place. The shank of the padlocks are then covered so they cannot be cut. Losing the key would essentially mean getting out of this upgraded metal CB-6000 system would be extremely difficult or perhaps impossible. (I hope my idea makes sense to you) The next phase would involve that metal “shroud” housing sensors and a microprocessor (or SOC, system on chip) capable of wireless communication via WiFi or Bluetooth (to an iPhone or smartphone?) so your CB-6000 could be monitored and/or controlled remotely over the internet…but that is another topic altogether… Is anyone interested in helping model CB-6000 parts in 3D, so we can then get metal versions fabricated? j
