Mature Metal discussion

Hello everyone, I just bought a Jailbird and it’s nearly ideal. As MM explains on his site, men with high-and-tight scrotums might need an extra half-inch of gap space. I plan to return mine to him for this tweak; he notes online that it’s a simple and affordable fix. Right now the gap sits at 3/8 inches, but I’m wondering if anyone here has had this modification done—specifically moving from 3/8” up to 1/2”—and how much of an impact it made on comfort. Cheers
