Wow, what a journey! I wanted to share an update and show off my brand new CB6000s:)! After reading the discussion about devices fading, I found out that you can’t use the standard RIT dye anymore. You must go for RIT Pro colors since their formula is still intact. There was another option like “idye poly,” but it lacked the shade I needed. Here’s my process: 2 cups of water 3/4 cup of pure acetone (regular nail polish remover won’t cut it) 1 tablespoon of fuchsia RIT Pro dye Mix the acetone and dye in a bowl. Heat two cups of water in the microwave for 4 minutes until boiling. USE EXTREME CAUTION when removing them, as they will burn you if not handled carefully. Slowly pour the hot water into your mixture and stir with a spoon. Then submerge the device. It stays in there for about 5 to 10 minutes. Here it is! If people are interested, I might dye more units for others. Also, notice that the smallest ring looks darker… that’s because it was my test piece and went through the bath twice. Enjoy!
