I would like to be the person who argues with the insurance company

Hoping to find
a woman whose paperwork is drowning her, and correction when I get it wrong
Experience
Six years handling the correspondence of one woman who could not bear it.
Somewhere around
Manhattan, New York

I would like to be the person who argues with the insurance company. Who reads the lease properly, who sits on hold, who writes the letter that finally gets something corrected, and who keeps the folder that means nobody ever has to look for anything twice. It is the least romantic offer on this board and it is the one thing I am genuinely good at.

Fifty five, Manhattan, a paralegal for twenty years and now doing something quieter. I live alone, I am tidy to a degree my sister finds unnerving, and I am at my best inside somebody else's mess.

I did this for six years for a woman who ran her own practice and loathed administration. She handed me a shoebox twice a year and by the end I was handling most of the correspondence in her life. It ended when she remarried and her husband took over the shoebox, which I thought was a good sign about him.

Nothing is paid and nothing would be accepted, because the moment anything moves in either direction this becomes a job and I already have one. What I want is direction and correction. Being told the letter was too soft, or too late, and being expected to do it again properly.

Not looking for a woman who wants an accountant. Not looking for anything sexual attached to it, which I would rather write plainly than leave sitting unasked. Not looking to hold anybody's passwords or sign anything on their behalf, which is a line I keep for both our sakes.

Offering to be useful is the position most often taken advantage of, and the one people most often undersell. These three cover both halves of that.
